Though I personally just call it home, the Caribbean island of Jamaica is one of the most popular tropical vacation spots on this side of the Atlantic. There is a valid reason why. Apart from being the land that bore the world the likes of Bob Marley and Usain Bolt, it is popularly featured on many a bucket list because of its powdery sand beaches and its vibrant culture that non-natives can easily immerse themselves in and resurface for the journey home with awesome memories for a lifetime. Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril are the most popular locations for vacationing. These two micro cities and a tranquil town are located along the island’s western seaboard and can be experienced in a quick weekend getaway or a week-long vacation. If your starting point is Montego Bay (my home-base and ‘MoBay’ to locals), facing the sea, you can go right to Ocho Rios in 2 hours and go left to Negril in the same amount of time. There is a wide variety of things to do and see for every variation of interest in either direction. Here is a list of the most popular attractions and lesser known gems that you can put on your to-do list when you drop by to say hi!.
Three years ago I went outside to check that my spigots were covered before a pending storm was to descend over Nashville, TN. I slipped on black ice, wedged my running shoe between two pavers, and heard my ankle snap. I had never broken a bone, but I immediately knew the pain was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I screamed so loud my neighbor came over to help me crawl inside. That night the city was covered with 6" of snow and if you know anything about living in the southeast, that much snow equals paralysis! It was six days before I could get to the doctor's office for them to declare fractures on both sides of my ankle joint and for surgery to be recommended. Now, the x-ray of my ankle looks a lot like a fence post someone screwed a bunch of screws into through a metal plate! Before I went into surgery, I went into deep research mode to put together my “Ankle Healing Protocol”. I committed to doing whatever it took to restore full function to my ankle. I was about to turn 50 years old and hadn't lived an active, healthy life thus far just to trigger a cascade effect that would make me feel a lot older than I was. I'm happy to report that I was jogging again in 3 months and can do all my regular yoga poses as I could before surgery. I have since shared this “Protocol” with multiple other people who had similar surgeries and they experienced similar results. Take and apply whatever resonates with you and leave the rest! And as always, use your judgment. Consult your doctor as I am a middle-aged woman trying to lead a happy, healthy life, not a doctor or a physical therapist!
I love a quick read, to keep me focused on my goals and to keep me lifted. I am sharing my favorite children books that resonate with me as an adult today. Here is a list of my favorite 16 children books. I hope they help you when needed!!
The Great Smoky Mountains are beautiful. I have had the pleasure to live on the North Carolina side and my brother in Sevierville to know great attractions for any group dynamic. There are some areas that are more touristy, some pure nature, and some that are a mix of the two.
I have been doing my own makeup for years and have been through so many products to try and find the best products for my face. I go for a more natural makeup routine and I think it is PERFECT for summer days! I mix and match with these products and they have always turned out looking very natural and glowy.
If you have an ASD child (or 2, 3...) you know being tired first hand! Early into our journey, the stress of the unknown and all the phases we were going through really took a toll on my health. Now, I've learned to not ignore my well-being because after all I can't pour from an empty cup.
This is a list of my favorite travel destinations. It includes places I have stayed, and things I like to do while visiting those destinations. Budget friendly travel.

I'll never go back to working out of the house again - but working from home means my setup has to be sweet. That means not just a cute office, but also the best of the best technology and a strong ergonomic desk setup. These are my picks after almost three years of working from home. Pro tip? Ask your company if they have a work from home stipend to support your setup costs.
