If I could persuade you to switch from plastic to glass in one way it would be for food. I used to microwave my food in plastic and now I know that probably not the best. Yes, most of these have plastic lids but you are not to keep the lid on while microwaving. Plus the lid is not really going to come into contact with your food unless the container is filled to the brim.
